Trip Advisor Testimonials
Family enjoyed this but we have had better... Our family took the 6:00 pm trail ride. Beautiful scenery and beautiful sunset. Our guides were very nice. The trip was enjoyable. This was a trail ride with the horses kept too close together with head-to tail formation. We only walked, but much of the terrain was rugged, so that made it worthwhile. This trip is a good one for beginner riders. There were some first-time riders in another family, so unfortunately this led to no opportunity for a more experienced rider to trot or cantor on the flat areas. If you are looking for a basic ride this was a good trip. If you are looking for more, you may be disappointed. More
NickiP9026/18/2019Amazing Experience Cody was so nice and helpful and we had a blast!! Would highly recommend for a fun time and beautiful views
Jacobk819945/31/2019Fun with the kids Fun 90 minute ride with 10yo twins, boy/girl. We've been on several rides and the only dig on this trip was that the landscape. It was a typical trail for AZ, but pretty mundane. The guides were knowledgeable and skilled so that put us at ease so we could enjoy the ride. As an aside, when we finished the ride we went to the Dancing Apache winery which is on the same road about a 1/4 mile away. I'll review that separately but the combination of riding and then enjoying the winery was a 5!
Ty4/25/2019Premier Ride We had an absolutely amazing time! We got to have Tanner himself as our guide, he was very friendly and professional. I used to ride and missed it so much. I finally got my horse fix in and even got to gallup for a bit...put the biggest smile on my face. I highly recommend Horsin Around! Next time we’re in Arizona we will definitely be visiting them again!
-Amanda from NHamandaviz4/06/2019Highlight of our trip I grew up with horses. My daughter and husband were very apprehensive about riding. They agreed to go with me and were so happy they did. We all agreed it was the highlight of our trip. Logan was a fantastic leader. Very personable and knowledgeable. My husband and I wish we had his job! He knows and loves horses and it shows. Wished our ride would have lasted longer.
Julie3/15/2019Beautiful!! This was my first time ever riding a horse and Logan made sure it was an amazing experience! He helped us feel comfortable and confident on the horses and showed us the most incredible views. We not only got to take in the scenery but we also got to ask him a million questions about the ranch, horse training, Arizona, etc. It was a very personal and enjoyable tour that I would highly recommend to anyone!
Tara2/10/2019Ride off into the Sedona Sunset While spending time in Sedona, we booked a horse back riding excursion with Horsin' Around Adventures and loved it. We opted for a group ride at sunset and the views were gorgeous! We had so much fun. The horses were all very tame and safe for all ages, even kids. They provide all the safety equipment and instruction that you need. We had 2 guides with us to help make sure everything went smoothly. I'd highly recommend! Oh, and if you are a wine lover, there are several vineyards surrounding their property. Next time, I think I'd try their wine horseback riding tour. 😉
jetandbrunch1/15/2019Excellent companionship with Horses we had a family reunion in The area and were staying in Oak creek Village. We were really interested in a horse back riding experience. Ages of riders ranged from 7-54. we had a great time with our guide and horses. As sun was setting during the last cowpoke ride of the day in Jan, 2018 we enjoyed great scenery and companionship. Our guides were just awesome and were accommodating to needs of all.
Skm641/03/2019Awesome Sunset Ride Had a wonderful sunset ride with Max! Max was very intuitive to the type of ride we were looking for and was very knowledgeable of the area being an Arizona native and provided a wealth of interesting information on our ride. Felt completely safe and comfortable riding Fajita. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be going back on next visit to the area. Highly recommend, all the staff was friendly, accommodating and felt like old friends from the start!
Dee10/22/2018Great time Horsin' Around! Great guides, wonderful scenery, super ride! Highly recommend Horsin' Around! Can't wait to do it again!
Amy10/13/2018So Much Fun! My husband and I decided to ride horses while on vacation in Sedona. We both hadn't ridden a horse since we were kids so we signed up for the Cowpoke ride, 1 1/2 hours.
There were only 4 other people signed up for this ride so it was nice and personal. Max did a great job of orienting us to the horses and he put us at ease that we would all be just fine. Max took the lead on the tour and his associate, Justin, followed along in back. Both were friendly and informative and we enjoyed the experience very much. Highly recommend...
A big shout out to my horse, Red Apple, for being such a good girl!!jerseygirl181610/03/2018great, chill horseback ride through the canyon We did the 1.5-hour horseback ride through the canyon and lucked out that nobody else was in our group, meaning the two of us got a personal tour with our guide, Justin. He was great. He led us through a dusty, rocky trail and told us about all the plants and animals that thrive in this habitat. He also told funny stories about all the horses' different personalities on the ranch. The horses are chill and this is an easy ride. Def recommend for an afternoon adventure.
jen9/20/2018Cowpoke Ride I am an experienced rider, however I haven't ridden much in the past few years. Most of the other riders had little experience. Max did an excellent orientation before the ride explaining the basics of riding a horse. I thought this was excellent for the less experienced riders. The horses were well cared for and great trail riding horses. Max took time on the ride to point out areas of interest, which I appreciated. I would highly recommend Horsin' Around!
joycesprague9/18/2018Amazing Ride My wife and I went on the 1.5 hr ride with the wine tasting package. The ride was amazing! Max and Justin (our wranglers) did a great job with the group. I've ridden a bit, and this by far is in the top rides I've done. The views are spectacular, the horses are great and the wranglers are great. Would ride there again (and again!)
Todd9/17/2018Great Experience My husband and I went on the 1.5 hr ride. I had never ridden before and Kodi made sure I was comfortable before heading out. She was very attentive to the whole group, and keep us all laughing, while still providing information on plants etc along the way.
She definitely is passionate about the horses and it came through with her enthusiasm. She made all the difference!!!
We would recommend everyone take in this experience.Kevin8/16/2018Will never forget Goldie Locks! Had a really great trail ride & wine tasting package done with Horsin' Around. I had this sassy, wonderful gelding named Goldie Locks who made the trail ride very enjoyable and fun! Horses were well matched with riders, and the staff was well trained and handled all situations really well. They worked with novice riders expertly and made sure they were comfortable as well as safe.
Loved the horses, they were SO well behaved and looked so happy. Really a great operation that felt personalized and unique.
The wine tasting after was such a treat and Oak Creek Winery did a really good job-it was a great package deal.Delicious wine!Lauren8/15/2018Great people - Great horses I didn't have high hopes for a dusty horse ride in Arizona in the Summer. However, the 6pm trip was surprisingly pleasant (1+ hours total). The horses were great for us non-enthusiasts. The people that work there are very pleasant & helpful. My wife had a great time. The trails were rocky, but the horses were very agreeable.
LazyTraveler945448/06/2018Incredible & Wonderful 🙂 First off, I want to say that "Kodi" my guide/wranglers was FANTASTIC !!
I booked a solo trip to the Sedona area for my "50th" birthday!
I booked a 2 hour private ride with Kodi and so gald that I did. She was absolutely terrific.
She was beyond knowledgable about horses, horsebackriding etc. I haden't rode a horse in years and I must say I was a litle anxious and scared to take this ride along this particular trail, but Kodi reassured that she was there to guide and help me all the way !!
And that she did ....... after about 15 mins I was relaxed and totally enjoying every twist and turn on the trail.
With a little prodding from Kodi, she recommeded that we ride up to the bluff on the mountain across from the ranch. The climb was steep ,but exciting !!
My horse was so sweet and beautiful.. After we reached the bluff, my heart sank....
The views were spectacular and breathtaking !!
I thanked Kodi for pushing me out of my comfort zone and taking on the challenge
of this ride...Thank god I did !
This bluff is a VERY VERY special place +
I would absolutley recommend Horsin Around Adventures to anyone and everyone.
A must must- book a private ride with Kodi , you will NOT regret it 🙂
Thank you "Kodi" for being part of so many beautiful memories that I have of my "50th" b-day +

Carol Forrest- NYBlueyes68078/05/2018Horse back riding This is a very scenic ride. Steep inclines and declines that can be very rocky. Our group had all experienced riders. Teens need to wear helmets. Adults do not, but can if they prefer. They use a platform to mount the horses. They say beginners can go on this ride, but I would advise against it. The horses do not follow tail to nose. There often is a bit of space between riders. Some of the horses require more experience in redirecting. My horse wanted to go off roading several times. I had to work to redirect. Overall, horses were well behaved. Only a couple exceptions. The max number they take on rides is fifteen. We had 11 in our party. Two staff rode with us, one in front and one behind. They were great. Half way through they offered us water bottles. They also offered to take several pictures. Willing to rearrange the horses to get specific horses with riders in the picture. It was an hour and a half ride. Very nice!
bobandgwen6997/30/2018Great horses, wranglers and a fun time!!! My wife and I went for an evening ride on 6/23/18. My wife is an experienced rider while I've only ridden once....about 30 years ago. The woman that checked us in was very friendly and clearly knew what she was talking about concerning horseback riding. Our wranglers, Alejandro (Che-Che) and Harold, were very knowledgeable, patient, safety minded and informative. The horses were great and well matched to the riders. The ride was fun and the wranglers were very attentive, engaging and interesting, they were just great!!! They created such a positive experience that after we left, I told my wife that we should ride more often. Great job and thank you all for such a good memory!

Alex6/21/2018Great Experience! We picked the right outfit! Everyone was very professional and very friendly. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us lots of good information. The trails, the horses and the views were well worth the experience we had. We would highly recommend Horsin' Around to anyone and we will definitely be back!
Scott_FFT6/20/2018Awesome private ride with Lakota We came to Sedona for a week to celebrate our 30th anniversary and I wanted very much to horseback ride while there. My husband looked at a few riding places and called out to the owner of Horsin' Around before we left. She was the most friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Since my husband was not as comfortable riding as I, she took the time to answer all his questions and put all my husband's concerns to rest. They also accommodate all sizes of adults, not just a low weight minimum as with most we found.
The week before we left we booked for our first day a 2 hour private morning tour and was soooo glad we did. Our guide was Lakota - I cannot say enough about him!!! He was awesome, from his knowledge of the area, to his knowledge of horses and overall kindness and personable attention to us. As I said, my husband was more concerned about falling than anything else. Lakota took the time to ease my husband's concerns, as well as brush me up on my riding skills since it had been awhile. He took the time to teach him how to handle his horse in a reasonable, layman's terms manner, all the while allowing us to have an incredible first day of our trip. The trails are a lot of fun and the views incredible. It was a very special way to start our trip and for me to ride again. I would highly recommend booking a ride with Horsin' Around. They will also provide water bottles and bring along on the ride. Depending on the time of year, morning rides are really nice. We will definitely ride with them again if we ever have the chance to visit Sedona in the future. Only negative - It wasn't long enough! I will want a 3 hr ride next time 🙂
Thanks so much Lakota and Horsin' Around for making our trip memorable!beachlovers1006/13/2018Excellent staff. Interesting area to ride. Great horses! My wife and I took our teen daughter for this adventure and it was great! The horses are wonderful and you'll fall in love with them! The staff made us all comfortable before and during the ride and they chose the horse that "fit" each of us best. Very experienced riders work here, very friendly too. Highly recommended for something different and fun to do in the Page Springs/Sedona area, you'll be glad you did it. VERY interesting area too!
Bruzmuse5/27/2018Tons of fun! This was a last minute activity my boyfriend and I planned. We were not disappointed. Our guide was Luis and he made what could have been a quiet horse ride enjoyable and filled our small group with laughter. If you are easily offended i suggest you either stay home or get a sense of humor. His jokes were funny (kind of) and corny. Definitely the kind of guy you’d want to grab a beer with after.
We never expected to go to Arizona and pick ourselves up a Mexican!
We had a small group, but he made sure we got the most out of it. I brought home a horse shoe and my boyfriend brought home a Mexican! Lol jk! Thanks for the fun adventure Horsin Around!Emily5/09/2018Adventures await!! Luis took led the morning ride. He entertained us with his humor, pointed out the points of interest and wildlife in the surrounding areas. It was a fun ride and made me want to come again!! Thank you for an amazing morning. Denise4/29/2018Enjoyable Our family did the trail ride and stayed for lunch. The ride was very scenic and the guides kept us entertained with jokes (Yes, some off color as previously reviewed, but in a laid back environment we were comfortable with.) The horses were well taken care of and the guides knew each horse's personality and we were all paired up well.
Lunch was simple and yummy. They had the spread ready for us upon our return.
We would definitely return! Good times!
But remember you are going back country trail riding, and set expectations accordingly.EHHTate4/04/2018Rustic trail ride My wife and I make a point to arrange a horseback riding trip whenever we travel to Arizona. We have ridden in and around Scottsdale a few times, but this was our first ride in Sedona. We signed up for a 2 hour trail ride. The facility is at the end of an approximately mile long rock, dirt road. I was driving a rental car and was somewhat concerned about damage from rocks and the pitted ‘road’ surface. Our guide was very amiable and obviously very experienced. There is no conventional bathroom at the office (there is an outhouse which was not particularly inviting), The vistas along the trail were spectacular and our guide was very forthcoming regarding taking photos of us. The trails, however were particularly rocky and steep and not necessarily for beginners.
lucy0214824/01/2018Very enjoyable We went on a 90 minute horseback ride. I have been in many rides, and this is one of the best. The horses are well cared for, well behaved, and the scenery was great. It is also a lovely drive from Sedona.
pjcharles4/01/2018Fun outing, but have been to much better We thought this was a fun outing, but had a few disappointments in it. First, the route wasn't varied, which they can't really control, so it got a bit old after awhile. But more importantly, we found the guide to be a bit offensive. He was nice and trying to be funny, but some of the remarks bordered on racism and maybe we are just too sensitive but this day, it's just not funny.
